Counselling in Elora & Fergus, Ontario for Trauma Using Brainspotting and Somatic Therapy
Heal at the source. Regulate your nervous system. Reclaim your life.
If you’ve lived through trauma—whether a single event, layered experiences over time, or the ongoing impact of chronic stress, neurodivergence, or masking—your nervous system carries the imprint. These patterns can narrow your Window of Tolerance, making everyday moments feel overwhelming or numbing.
In our work, we gently expand that window together. Counselling for trauma draws on Brainspotting to locate and release stored distress, mindfulness to cultivate present-moment safety, neurobiological understanding to make sense of your body’s responses, and somatic practices to support bottom-up regulation—all within a strengths-based, neurodivergent-affirming space. We honor your resilience, creativity, and unique wiring as we build tools for calm, connection, and authentic living.
You are not broken; your system adapted to protect you. Now, we can help it rediscover safety and joy.
What Is Trauma-Informed Therapy?
Trauma lives in the body, not just the mind. You may notice yourself feeling chronically anxious, stuck in freeze, easily overwhelmed, highly reactive, or emotionally disconnected — often without a clear “reason.” These are common signs that past experiences (recent, complex, developmental, or relational) have left an imprint in your nervous system.
Trauma-informed counselling offers a safe, compassionate space to gently understand and release these patterns. We work with the body and brain together — using Brainspotting, somatic practices, mindfulness, and neurobiological insight — to help restore safety, expand your window of tolerance, and reconnect with calm, clarity, and joy.
What Is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-body-based therapeutic technique that helps access unprocessed trauma stored in the subcortical brain — the part that governs survival responses. I have used brainspotting to support clients who are living with chronic illness, ADHD, anxiety/depression and attachment issues.
By locating “brainspots” connected to emotional and somatic activation, clients can process and release trauma gently, without needing to retell painful stories. This technique can be especially effective for:
PTSD and complex trauma
Anxiety and panic attacks
Depression and emotional numbness
Chronic pain and somatic symptoms
Phobias and fears
Performance anxiety
Dissociation or hypervigilance

What to Expect in Sessions
Counselling is a collaborative process grounded in safety, consent, and attunement. Each session is tailored to your nervous system’s readiness and pace.
You’ll be supported in connecting with your body’s internal wisdom — not forced to relive trauma. Many clients describe Brainspotting sessions as profound, subtle, and transformative.
